The Jimi Hendrix Experience
The Jimi Hendrix Experience 1967
Silk Screen Print
Signed and Blind Stamped
Track records was a record label founded in 1967 by Kit Lambert ad Christ Stamp, the managers of The Who. They distributed material by The Jimi Hendrix Experience starting in May 1967 with Are Your Experienced and ending with Gypsy Eyes in 1971. The poster was commissioned by them to advertise the UK releases of The Experience’s work, a British-American rock band formed in London 1966, compromising of Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell. The band were active until 1969 and is now arguably best known now for frontman, Jimi Hendrix. The poster was also used to advertise The Experience’s show in February 1968 at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco. An original 1967 concert poster was sold at Bonhams in 2008 for $72,000.
