Lillias Blackie
Lillias Blackie is a contemporary Scottish artist, born in 1943, whose work has been purchased all over the UK and beyond.
Although interested in art she did not start painting until 1969. As a self taught, she is a keen observer of all flowers and specialises in floral subjects, inspired greatly by the French and Dutch Masters.
Lillias Blackie also paints landscapes but has built up a reputation as a flower artist, working mainly in oil. She regularly exhibits in Edinburgh, Dunkeld, Pitlochry and in England, but has also exhibited in Germany and Holland.
Her work hangs in countless homes around the globe and has also been purchased by HRH Princess Anne.
This year Lillias has concentrated on her seascapes which have proved to be a popular subject in recent times.
Lillias Blackie combines her natural talent with her memories of her time on beaches in her childhood, as well as the way she relates to flowers to create pieces of work that opens your mind to the beauty of her memories and talent.
