Francisco Santana was born in Valencia, Spain, in 1965.
From a very early age, Santana felt attracted to the art of painting and he first studied the skills in the Superior Fine Art School in Valencia.
Santana prefers to portray villages and boats, familiar scenes that surround him with all the light and heat that can be found in Spain. His works are perfectly harmonised and full of life with a loose painterly style.
While focusing on moored boats in low tide or on beaches, Santana's approach to light and water are the true beauty and power of his paintings. His use of colour and dynamic brushstrokes create not only a tranquil work but a bright and vibrant world.
Santana's paintings can be found in collections across the globe.
