Spanish artist Antonio Villalba was born in Alicante in 1968. After studying at the School of Fine Arts and Crafts in his hometown, he then moved on to complete his artistic education at the San Carlos Art School in Valencia.
Villalba is constantly experimenting with styles and techniques and colours. His spontaneous painting style creates a sense of movement in even the most calming of scenes. Preferring to work in oil paints, Villalba uses bold and dense brush strokes to achieve his strong textural contrasts.
Internationally acknowledged for his Venetian carnival scenes and his waterlillies, two very different subject matters, Villalba's work is beautifully composed and true sight to behold.
